SecureGuard Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the SecureGuard Android app and the FPU website, how we use it, and the choices you have. SecureGuard helps families and individuals with mobile fraud protection, alerts, URL checks, and guided reporting support.

1) Information We Collect

SecureGuard does not collect your name, phone number, message text, contacts, or location. There is no account. We do not collect an advertising ID or an Android ID.

The FPU website does not collect names, phone numbers, or message text.

Crash reports

Crash reports are on for everyone. A crash report includes:

• Stack trace
• Device model
• Operating system version
• App version

Crash reports do not include your name, phone number, or message text.

Install, uninstall, and session counts

Install, uninstall, and session counts are on for everyone through Firebase Analytics. Firebase uses an app-instance ID to count them. These counts are not tied to an account, an advertising ID, or an Android ID, and they do not include your name, phone number, or message text.

Fraud-detection learning signals

Anonymous fraud-detection learning signals are on by default. They are not limited to a separate opt-in. You can turn these signals off in Protect. Crash reports and uninstall counts stay on when you do that.

2) How We Use Your Information

• Crash reports: to diagnose and fix crashes.
• Install, uninstall, and session counts: to understand how many people install SecureGuard, remove it, and use it.
• Fraud-detection learning signals: to improve fraud detection. These signals are anonymous.
• Service communication: if you contact us (for example by email or WhatsApp), we use that conversation only to respond to your request.

We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3) Data Storage & Security

Firebase processes crash reports and install, uninstall, and session counts for us as a service provider. We store fraud-detection learning signals securely and take reasonable measures to protect the information described in this Policy against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including:

• Encrypting data in transit.
• Limiting access to authorized personnel only.

Despite our efforts, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

4) Sharing of Information

We do not sell this information, and we do not use it for advertising. Firebase processes crash reports and app-activity and diagnostics events for us. That processing is not a sale and is not sharing with a third party for the third party's own purposes.

We do not collect your name, phone number, messages, contacts, location, or advertising ID, so we do not share those.

We will only disclose information if required to comply with a valid legal request (e.g., court order) or to protect our rights and users' safety. Even in such cases, we will notify you whenever possible and only share the minimum information required by law.

5) Data Retention

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. When no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

6) Your Rights

• Access: You can ask what information this Policy describes and how we use it.
• Learning signals: You can turn anonymous fraud-detection learning signals off in Protect. Crash reports and uninstall counts stay on.
• Deletion: You can ask us to delete fraud-detection learning signals we can associate with your request. See below.

How to Request Deletion

Email us at contact@fraudpreventionunit.in with the subject line: "Delete My SecureGuard Data".

We will verify your request and delete fraud-detection learning signals we can associate with it within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days), unless we are required by law to retain certain records. Crash reports and install, uninstall, and session counts do not include your name, phone number, or message text, and they are not tied to an account.

7) Your Choices

Anonymous fraud-detection learning signals are on by default. You can turn them off in Protect at any time. Crash reports and uninstall counts stay on. To stop receiving promotional messages (if any), you can:

• Reply STOP (for SMS where supported), or
• Email contact@fraudpreventionunit.in with the subject: "Unsubscribe Promotions".

8) Children's Privacy

SecureGuard is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us to have it deleted.

9) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated Effective Date. Material changes may be communicated in the SecureGuard app or via SMS.
